A happy Midsummer from all of us at Zooma!

A happy Midsummer from all of us at Zooma!

One of the Swede's most celebrated holidays is approaching on the 23rd of June, which means a long weekend for everyone at Zooma. A weekend filled with traditional dishes, dances and songs.

On Monday, the 26th of June, Zoomers will be back in the office.

Midsummer is a hundred of years old celebration in Northern Europe and Sweden, where it's been celebrated as a breaking point in the year for farmers. Being the shortest night of the year has also made it connected to being a night associated with magical forces and supernatural beings.

One of my favourite traditions growing up was where you pick seven different flowers from seven fields (preferably jumping over round pole fences to get to the fields) in silence. When you have picked your flowers, you put them under your pillow. The whole point of all this is to then, in your dreams that night, hopefully see the person you will marry.

If you don't have any Midsummer plans, I highly recommend you try it out and get yourself a nice little bouquet.

Have a wonderful weekend, and happy Midsummer!
