Meet Sofia: Creativity, curiosity, and a passion for solving puzzles

While Sofia may not enjoy talking about herself, she thrives on creative tasks and puzzles.

Outside of work, Sofia spends a lot of time making things by hand. She loves sewing, crocheting, and painting, creative hobbies she has enjoyed since childhood.

"Creativity is a family trait."

"My mom used to sew my clothes when I was younger, even my Christmas dresses."

Today, the tradition continues. When Sofia visits her mother, it's not unusual for them to start a spontaneous project together.

For Sofia, creating something from scratch is both relaxing and rewarding. It's a way to slow down and focus fully on the process.

Books, baking, and a good mystery

When she's not creating, Sofia is usually reading. Fantasy is a favourite—stories filled with magic, strange creatures, and imaginative worlds where anything can happen. But there's another genre she enjoys just as much: mystery and detective stories. "The kind where you try to figure out what happened before the end of the book," she explains. Cooking and baking are other ways she unwinds.

"It makes me calm. I just focus on the process."

Whether it's creating, reading, or baking, Sofia enjoys activities that allow her to immerse herself and gradually see something take shape.

A natural problem-solver

That same curiosity and love for solving problems also appear in Sofia’s professional life.

She joined Zooma in January 2022 as a marketing automation intern. A few months after graduating, she began her role as a marketing automation specialist in June of the same year.

Despite the field’s high level of specialisation, Sofia quickly recognised its suitability for her. “I realised pretty quickly during my studies that marketing automation is something I really enjoy." Nowadays, a large part of her role involves helping clients structure campaigns, set up workflows, and find solutions when things become complicated. If she had to summarise her role simply, she would say, “I find solutions."

Working with clients across different markets often involves coordinating with teams worldwide and making sure the right actions occur at the right times. For Sofia, the most rewarding moments are when a complex problem finally makes sense.

"I love it when something is a bit tricky. It's like solving a puzzle."

Growing along the way

Since joining Zooma, Sofia says that one of her biggest personal developments has been gaining confidence in English. "Since we work with global customers and English is our internal language, I use it every day. I used to feel a bit nervous speaking, but now it feels much more natural." That growth has been easier thanks to the team around her.

"Everyone is helpful and open. Asking questions is considered curiosity, not a problem. "

Could she sum up the team in three words? Funny. Knowledgeable. Surprising. "You never really know what will happen during lunch breaks," she laughs.

Quick facts about Sofia

Coffee or tea? Both, but a good cappuccino wins.

Early bird or night owl? Usually, I am an early riser, but I am working on returning to that after the holidays.

Automation or manual processes? Automation is preferred, but only because it begins with thoughtful manual planning.

From creative afternoons with yarn and fabric to quietly solving complex problems behind the scenes, Sofia brings curiosity, creativity, and patience into everything she does.

And even if she might not love talking about herself, we're very pleased she’s part of the Zooma story.
