My first week as a Zooma intern

My first week as a Zooma intern

Hi! I'm Rebecca, the newest member of the Zooma team. I'm studying to become an eCommerce Manager and have just completed my first week as an intern at Zooma. I will share my newfound knowledge, reflections, and impressions every week. Join me every Friday by subscribing to the Internship Hub.

A student's perspective

Looking for a good place to do your internship can be super stressful. I have heard horror stories of companies making interns get coffee, walk their dogs (not really, but you see where I'm going) or practically work at a call centre. Although you feel quite confident in your ability to identify those types of people, it's something you have in the back of your mind.

First impressions

My first impression of Zooma was the complete opposite.

When I found the agency on allabolag.se (a Swedish company information website), my knowledge of Zooma was solely numbers. In the first ten seconds of my first meeting with Anders, CEO of Zooma, he actually read my mind. A few minutes before the interview, I told my friend, 'I don't know if I can take the same five interviewing questions I have gotten the past month. Where do you see yourself in five years? What's your worst quality?' and so on. The first thing Anders said was:

'Let's not do this as a traditional interview; let's just chat and get to know each other a little bit'.

This was the best first impression you could offer me as an employee.

What will I do?

As my predecessors also mentioned, during this introduction week, there have been multiple onboarding meetings, many warm welcomes, and meaningful insights into Zooma's culture and the core of truly practising as you preach.

During my internship, I will participate in and initiate various projects involving optimising website content and structure, improving SEO, data nurturing, and improving customer offers. I am also very excited about owning my eCom sales project, which will last the entire internship.

I look forward to finding my place in the company and becoming a Zoomer!
