My internship as a marketing automation specialist at Zooma

As my 14-week internship as a marketing automation specialist at Zooma ends, I reflect on the invaluable experiences and knowledge I have gained. Throughout my internship, I had the opportunity to learn about inbound marketing and apply my skills to complete a variety of tasks. I also had the privilege of working with talented colleagues and using various tools and platforms that have expanded my technical capabilities. In this article, I will summarise my experience, share my thoughts on the future of marketing automation, and express my gratitude to the company for the opportunity to learn and grow.

1. Zooma's inbound marketing and digitalisation expertise: At the heart of Zooma's marketing strategy is the inbound methodology; Zooma's marketing strategy involves providing valuable content to attract, engage, and delight potential customers. They specialise in creating insightful content that addresses their target audience's pain points, establishing themselves as a trusted advisor. Zooma is a digitalisation and onlinification partner that helps businesses succeed in the digital age by delivering brand, marketing, and communications strategies, concepts, productions, and solutions. Their focus is on creating impactful digital experiences to help their clients stay ahead and drive growth

2. My tasks at Zooma: During my 14-week internship as a marketing automation specialist at Zooma, I had the opportunity to work on various tasks individually and participate with my colleagues to complete the tasks. These included adding two new languages to the website using Hubspot, creating a custom NPS survey, nurturing HubSpot contacts and updating them, performing a HubSpot clean-up, optimising blog articles for SEO, writing blog articles for The Internship Hub, helping to fix SEO alerts on HubSpot, creating customer emails and workflows. Through collaboration and teamwork, I created a lead scoring model as an improvement suggestion for my school. Also, I obtained several certifications from HubSpot Academy, such as Social Media Marketing, Content Marketing, and SEO.

3. Tools and platforms used: To achieve the previous tasks, I have used and learned to use different tools and platforms, such as the HubSpot CRM system. Content creation, blog writing, and planning tools such as Figma, Miro, Squoosh, Canva, Grammarly, and Teamwork. SEO tools such as Keywords Everywhere, SEO Meta in 1 click, Keyword Density Analyzer, and Google Search Console.

 4. Skills gained: Through my internship at Zooma, I gained a range of valuable skills that have enhanced my abilities as a marketing automation specialist. Specifically, I acquired expertise in working with HubSpot, including creating blogs, emails, landing pages, workflows, and social media posts. I also developed strong writing skills, with experience in creating, editing, and reviewing various types of content. In addition, I improved my SEO and blog optimisation skills, including identifying keywords and optimising content for search engines. Lastly, I gained proficiency in various content creation tools, which has expanded my technical capabilities and helped me to create engaging and compelling content.

5. Future of marketing automation: I think marketing automation will continue to play a significant role in boosting campaign performance, streamlining workflows, increasing productivity, and driving customer engagement, repeat sales, and revenue. With the integration of AI, businesses can expect even greater efficiency gains and enhanced customer experiences. AI-powered tools will provide valuable insights into customer behaviour, allowing businesses to tailor their marketing efforts to be more targeted and personalised. This will save time and increase efficiency, enabling businesses to focus on higher-level strategic initiatives.

In conclusion, my 14-week internship as a marketing automation specialist at Zooma has been a rewarding experience. I am grateful for the opportunity to have gained practical skills in inbound marketing, content creation, SEO optimisation, and marketing automation tools. Working with a team of experienced professionals has enabled me to develop both personally and professionally. I thank everyone at Zooma for this invaluable opportunity and the memories and lessons I will always appreciate.
