This week we said hello to Martin Palmqvist, the newest Zoomer to join the team. He'll be working as a project manager, and it's great to have him on board!
Martin has a long career behind him, mostly spent in the automotive industry. Starting in 2004, he worked with B2B and B2C marketing at a major Swedish manufacturer, focusing on a number of business areas like trucks, construction equipment, and cars. He began his career before online and digital became a major focus area for business, so Martin's been able to experience the entire transformation and has played an active role in driving it forward at the companies he's worked for.
Last year, he started working with another large Swedish equipment manufacturer before moving on to a smart wearables startup. Regardless of the company's size, marketing communications and branding have been a common theme throughout Martin's entire career. In addition, he's gathered a vast amount of experience from working in different industries and countries across the world - he even lived in South Africa for two years in a previous role and still likes to visit the country when he gets the chance.
Martin is now the third new Zoomer to have a completely digital onboarding - here at Zooma, we're still working entirely from home, so Martin's introduction has taken place from the comfort of his own home in Lerum just outside of Gothenburg. However, despite the distance, it's going well - he's previously had the experience of working across borders and time zones, so Zoom meetings aren't anything new.
At Zooma, he's mostly looking forward to working in a smaller, dynamic team where's he's close to our internal experts and creators. "I also really appreciate Zooma's values - I've always seen the company as very forward-facing, with a clear onlinification and digitalisation focus that has been there for a long time. And the approach to constant experimentation and creating best practice is something I really like," he says.
When he's not at work, Martin likes running, playing tennis, and spending time with his wife and three children.
It's great to have him on board - welcome, Martin!
