Latest updates on my e-commerce online store

In the third phase of my e-commerce project, I'm focusing on implementing the design and refining the customer experience. Emphasising creativity and precision, I’m translating Zooma's off-the-shelf services into an accessible, polished online store that resonates with potential clients.

I am now a few weeks into my e-commerce website project, and this week, I am progressing to phase three—implementation. For those who may not be familiar with the project, I am developing a brand-new online store for Zooma. This initiative is part of my study assignment and is closely linked to my internship. The focus is on examining the marketing aspects of launching an e-commerce site.

Although Zooma primarily offers digital services rather than physical products (except the Onlinification Hub book), we decided to take on the challenge of transforming some of the services into 'products.' We aim to package these offerings into precise, accessible products that our target audience can easily explore and purchase directly.

Up until now, I have been focused on customising the website's design, selecting the appropriate theme, and determining the best way to present Zooma’s services in a way that will resonate with potential clients.

There are numerous factors to consider, and ensuring that the site accurately reflects the brand while maintaining an optimal user experience, aesthetic appeal, and accessibility is essential.

Trying out MidJourney for "product" images

Currently, I am working on creating "product" images, which has proven challenging as it requires translating intangible services into visual representations.

With my mentor, I've been exploring options such as generating images through MidJourney (an AI tool), taking custom photos, or sourcing high-quality stock images. My primary focus is ensuring consistency and a polished appearance across the website. While working on this, I've found it particularly rewarding to experiment with MidJourney. I highly recommend it for anyone interested in trying it—once you master the prompts, it can produce impressive visuals. That said, the final image selections are still to be decided.

Aligning brand and design

While the technical aspects of building the website are a work in progress, I've also enjoyed the creative process. Ensuring that the design aligns with Zooma's branding—clean, modern, and professional—has been challenging but fun. I have been experimenting with various layouts to create a visually engaging site while prioritising user experience.

There is still much work to be done—testing, refining, and optimising the site before its final launch. However, I am excited to see the project take shape and look forward to helping Zooma expand its client base through this new channel. I will continue to share updates as I move closer to completing the site and preparing for its launch!
