The advantages of inbound marketing - back to the basics

Some of you might be surprised when reading the title of this blog: |the advantages of inbound? We've been doing this for over ten years now; it's super effective. Everyone knows that, right? Why write a blog about it? That was my initial thought, too – but if everyone around you has been working with inbound for years, you – in your bubble – might think that everyone knows and thinks the same. And that is not the case. So, I want to go back to basics in this article.

What is inbound marketing?

Inbound marketing is a strategy that focuses on attracting customers through content. The idea is to create and distribute valuable, helpful, engaging content that pulls potential customers toward your business, product, and services. With this type of marketing, you can use social media, blogs, and other online tools to reach a large audience. This can help you establish trust in your brand and position yourself as an expert in the industry.

So, what are the advantages of using this strategy as a business? It enables you to effectively attract prospects, increase brand awareness, and build trust.

Inbound marketing attracts prospects at every stage of the buying journey

Inbound marketing helps you attract prospects at every stage of the buying journey. It can be used to attract people who are just starting to look for solutions, those in the research phase, and even those who are ready to make a purchase. This gives you an advantage over companies that rely on outbound marketing tactics because they may already be too late to attract these potential customers.

Inbound content increases brand awareness

Inbound marketing is a powerful tool for increasing brand awareness and driving traffic to your website. Inbound content can help you reach new audiences, build relationships with current customers, and drive conversions.

In addition to direct benefits on the business side, inbound content also helps increase brand awareness through search engine optimisation (SEO) results. When people get information from an authoritative source such as yours—rather than from a paid advertisement—they're more likely to pay attention to what they read or listen to.

Inbound marketing helps you build trust with prospects.

One of the most significant advantages of inbound marketing is that it helps you build trust with prospects. People want to buy from companies they trust. Trust is created by being helpful, delivering on your promises, and being transparent. Inbound marketing can help you achieve all three of these things.

Inbound marketing works by building relationships with potential customers through quality content, social media engagement, and community building. When you're actively creating helpful content for your audience, helping them understand what it's like to work with your company or product or service, how that could benefit their business or lifestyle (like sharing detailed case studies), and helping them feel like they belong in a community (by engaging with them on social media channels such as Twitter and Facebook), then prospects will begin seeing you as a trusted resource for information about the products and services offered by your company - which will ultimately lead them down the path toward becoming paying customers.

Inbound marketing creates long-term value for your business and its customers.

Inbound marketing creates long-term value for your business and its customers. How is this the case? The benefits of inbound marketing are numerous, but they all revolve around building a solid relationship with customers. Using inbound marketing effectively will increase revenue by creating leads that convert into sales. And more importantly, it leads to increased customer retention—and thus, decreased churn—by providing high-quality content that delights your users and helps them solve their problems.
