Insights from Zooma's team health survey

Insights from Zooma's team health survey

A strong, healthy team is the backbone of any successful organisation. But how do we know if you're doing well? That's the question we recently asked ourselves, which led us to conduct a team health survey inspired by McKinsey's go, teams: When teams get healthier, the whole organisation Benefits. This initiative aimed to help us assess key factors influencing our team dynamics, productivity, and, ultimately, the success of our business.

Purpose: A clear picture of our team's health

The aim of our survey was simple: to understand how our team's health impacts both individual well-being and company performance. We've seen firsthand how the state of our teams directly affects everything from innovation and collaboration to how we deliver results for our clients. Measuring team health is critical. It helps us continuously improve and grow as individuals and as a business.

Key drivers of team health: Our results

Team health survey results-1According to McKinsey's research, four core factors significantly impact team health and performance: trust, communication, innovative thinking, and decision-making. Here are our results:

  • Trust: 95%
  • Communication: 95%
  • Innovative Thinking: 95%
  • Decision Making: 95%

We are pleased to announce that our team has achieved above-average scores in these four essential areas. Teams that excel in these factors consistently demonstrate greater efficiency, innovation, and effectiveness in delivering client results. These insights underscore the critical importance of concentrating on these key drivers to foster a more dynamic and productive workplace.

Actions to drive improvement

We have collected the survey results, and the analysis is ready. A comprehensive report is presented, followed by discussions on how to use these findings for improvements.

These are some of the points we are focusing on:

Goals and purpose
  • Team goals, objectives, and purposes should be clarified internally at the client level and for the teams.
Meeting efficiency
  • Every meeting invitation (internal and external) shall include a purpose and an agenda.
Psychological safety
  • Every Zoomer is responsible for making it ”routine” to thank and recognise our colleagues' and customers' work and always celebrate when we close a project.

Why does this matter to you

We've seen the clear benefits of focusing on team health. It's not just about getting the work done. It's about fostering an environment where teams are engaged, creative, and empowered to perform at their best. Prioritising team health is essential for any business looking to stay competitive and innovative.

We encourage other organisations to consider taking a similar approach. Understanding and improving team health isn't just an investment in your people. It's an investment in your company's long-term success.

Implementing regular team health assessments and focusing on key drivers can create a more productive, motivated, and high-performing workforce.

What's next

Our next team health survey will be conducted by the end of the year. It will be exciting to see how we've progressed and to compare our differences. We look forward to sharing the results and continuing our journey toward an even healthier, more successful team.
