After a long wait, it's finally here - Zooma's first-ever printed book.
When Zooma turned 20, we decided we want to look into the past and see how the world of online and digital has changed over the years. The Onlinification Hub, our main knowledge base, has been going since 2012, so it turned out to be a good source of inspiration. The result was a collection of selected articles, published between 2012 and 2021, that show how much our way of thinking about online communication has changed. By binding everything together in a nice coffee table book, we wanted to create a historical document that we hope will inspire you make sense of the present and imagine the future.
We wanted to make sure the book would have a positive effect - so we thought carefully about how it could have a positive impact on two things we care about.
We want to keep the book's production local to minimise transport and emissions as much as possible. It's printed on Munken Polar paper, which is manufactured by Arctic Paper in Munkedal, around 100km north of Gothenburg. It's one of the world's cleanest paper mills, and uses wood from sustainably managed forests. By Wind, a leading printer close by in Mölndal, took care of the actual printing. They have their own wind turbines which produce 100% of the electricity used at their facility. After printing, the pages were bound together by M-Bok, a bookbinder in Västerås.
Stadsmissionen is an organisation that works to improve the lives of people living in homelessness, poverty and social exclusion in our home city, through a network of shelters, cafes and restaurants, second-hand shops, pre-schools, summer camps, languages classes, careers counselors and much more. We've supported Göteborgs Stadsmission for a long time, and all proceeds from the book will be donated to them.
